Affirmations are statements that we make to ourselves. They can be either positive affirmations or negative ones. They can be either deliberate, or automatic. Each of us already uses these statements in our daily lives, probably without understanding their full power. Affirmations work by speaking to your subconscious mind, continuously, until a belief is accepted. Our subconscious mind is much like a computer, in that it does not discriminate information, it simply processes it. This is why we must be careful what our conscious tells our subconscious.
Our subconscious mind contains our core belief system, which we have taught it. And, it daily assimilates information that is in agreement with its existing belief system, reinforcing it. It also rejects information that does not support what it already believes. However, through a deliberate choice, we can change the programming of our subconscious mind. This takes some effort, and a commitment to continually override the subconscious with positive affirmations, until a new belief is adopted...
